TOPICS ON THE PARANORMAL & SUPERNATURAL

The Paranormal Minefield

An interest in the supernatural is not only natural but, as spiritual beings—it’s required of us! Certainly, few people need to be encouraged to foster an interest in the paranormal . . . we are all drawn to reports of ghosts, hauntings, mediumship and clairvoyance, seances and demonic possessions. But just how informed are the goals and methods of modern paranormal research and investigation? Is the ghost hunter's toolbox a spiritual Pandora's Box? Ghost boxes, K-2 meters and other state-of-the-art “ghost hunting” tools are sd by the millions, and they seem to open lines of communication between this world and the next. But who or what are these entities and what do they want from us? Ursula Bielski is a lifelong Catholic, cultural and intellectual historian and thirty-five year paranormal investigator. Join her for this fascinating and important look at the spiritual dangers—and benefits—of paranormal inquiry and learn where to draw the boundaries between each.

Shadows of My Former Self: A Ghost Hunter’s Reckoning

During her more than three-decades of working as a paranormal investigator, Ursula Bielski has tracked ghosts, hauntings, poltergeists, demonic infestations and more both in her native Chicago and around the world. But while she began her work with the mission to spread knowledge of the afterlife—and ultimately, of God—to others, she found herself gradually pulled into the occult practices of contemporary paranormal research—which have taken on “scientific” disguises. From ghost radios to radionics machines to EM meters built as “ghost detectors,” Ursula became adept at them all. When Catholics and other Christians questioned her methods as heretical, she rationalized her activities as “scientific research.” But over time, these ancient methods in modern dress took her down. In the last years of utilizing these tools, she found herself in the throes of demonic vexation—hearing voices, waking up frequently with handprint-shaped bruises on her body, and obsessed with visiting “haunted” locations where demonic activity was rife. Dark activity infested Ursula’s family home, and she found inexplicable rifts developing between among and her family and friends. A shocking turn of events in the last year of her mother’s life sent Ursula into a dark place of reckoning, where the realities of her life’s work would be devastatingly revealed.

UFOs and the Occult

Investigation into the UFO phenomenon has grown into one of the most enigmatic and controversial movements in human history. In our age of AI and a new mission to the moon, its scientific trappings cloak the phenomenon in modern garb, with a wide appeal to secular forward-thinkers.  But peeling back the layers, the true origins and engines of "Ufology" are soon revealed to be ancient indeed, drawing on the tenets and tools of Spiritualism, Theosophy, Black Magic, Mysticism and more.  Join thirty year paranormal investigator, cultural historian and author Ursula Bielski for a look into the strange personalities and practices behind the UFO enigma. We'll look at the ties between Alisteir Crowley, L. Ron Hubbard and Jack Parsons--the brain trust of the Jet Propulsion Laboratories. We'll look at how some of the most compelling phenomena of the UFO movement--including the explosion of "contactee" and "abduction" experiences--were initiated by ouija boards and ancient conjuring. And we'll delve into the shrouded myth of the so-called Collins Elite: a group of government agents who vowed to stop the American government from a diabolical pact with fraudulent extraterrestrials.

Impossible Things: The Strange Reality of Permanent Paranormal Objects

“Paranormal Activity” is assumed to be by definition non-physical, fleeting and peripheral. Something Under the Bed: Children & the Paranormal

Why do infants and toddlers seem to have a heightened awareness of the paranormal—and an often marked ability to interact with the unknown? And why do these qualities and abilities seem to mysteriously disappear during adolescence? Parapsychologist and cultural historian Ursula Bielski explores the often complex relationships between children and the paranormal, and focuses special attention on the sometimes startling realities what we dismiss as “make-believe.”  From seeing ghosts to interacting with “fairies,” talking to animals and causing the movement of objects, we’ll examine what truths—and dangers—there may be in these ages-old manifestations of children’s “imaginations.”
